Once there was a garden (Advent/Christmas)
Hymn text based on the story of Adam's disobedience.
This hymn was written to cover a gap in the traditional Christmas carol service: something that goes with the bible reading about Adam's disobedience, but which isn't itself too gloomy.
Use together with any published arrangement of the melody. The hymn is written in the metre 11.11.11.11 and goes to Cranham (In the bleak midwinter) as illustrated here, or some editions of Noel Nouvelet, or indeed (within reason) to anything in that metre (or 6.5.6.5.D).
